When it’s all said and done, the portion, the lot, the boundary lines that God has given us, have been used to the glory of God and for the benefit of the common good. We are a part of a church family whose motto is justice.
Then I remembered Mary. Mary who was frightened facing the unknown, who despite that and any reservations she had about partnering with God in bringing Christ into the world, as a co-creator with God of a more beautiful world, dared to hope and dared to sing, “My spirit rejoices.”
Because of how overwhelming the world can be right now, it’s so crucial that we re-center ourselves on true, lasting joy. We need a source of strength, we need some grounding to endure this journey. In that light, we turn to what the Apostle Paul, the Dalai Lama, and Archbishop Desmond Tutu have to say on the subject.
